The Obsidian Wire Custom SC gives you greater tonal diversity, through the power of inbuilt coil splitting switches. The upgrade comes with sturdy solder-less connectors, so it can be installed by anyone.

WHAT IS COIL SPLITTING?

Humbuckers are built with two coils of tightly wound copper, for low noise, and high output. Coil splitting cuts the link between the two coils, so we can play with one half of the humbucker. This essentially gives us a single coil, for traditional Stratocaster or Telecaster sounds.
