The 201 is shockingly compact but delivers big, big power along with some really cool effects. This 4-pound powerhouse packs in 200 watts and is rackmountable and small enough to put on your pedalboard — a feature guitarists really appreciate.
A wide array of tone-shaping options
Whether you’re into jazz, rock, surf, or blues, the Tone Block 201 has something for all styles. With an easy-to-navigate interface on its front, the 201 features Gain and Tri-Q controls along with Voice, Hi-Cut, and Master volume. The Tri-Q lets you scoop your midrange and add it back in when needed. The Voice function features five options: Full Q, Tweed, Jazz, Surf, and Lead. The Full Q is your natural vintage amp tone, while Tweed conjures the classic open-back amps of yore. The Jazz voicing reduces gain for a cleaner tone, and Surf adds in a mid scoop for more bass and treble shine. Finally, the Lead voicing shapes your tone post-overdrive for a solid punch with clarity. Hi-Cut takes the edge off as you crank your volume and keeps your tone mellow, while Master sets your wattage. The 201 really does offer something for players of all genres.
